Freia cows

If California has happy cows, Norway has outdoorsy ones. I suppose that’s odd, thinking of cows as the outdoorsy type. Since, you know, they live outside. But these ones ski, and make what looks like killer chocolate.

I have no clue what Kvikk Lunsj is but I want some of it in my mouth right now. As it turns out it is nearly identical to Kit Kat bars, but Norwegian for “Quick Lunch.” I don’t know about you but if I ate Kit Kat bars for lunch I’d sure as hell be a cow.

Wonderful 35 second spot below!

Tatiana Plakhova

Working from Moscow, Tatiana Plakhova has clearly taken over the universe with a complex system representing, well, everything. I find myself imagining what these points could represent as data, and then my mind explodes in small bursts, so it’s probably better to just enjoy the digital illustration for what it is; gorgeous.

Space Collective

aktuelles_archiv.gif

While I was trolling Cargo Collective today (as I’m want to do) I ran across the profile of Superfamous Studios who developed the Cargo Collective content management system. According to their site Cargo Collective was built on the systems the team had set up to run their prior project which look really interesting.

SpaceCollective.org is a ground breaking participatory learning community and independent creative research platform where “forward thinking terrestrials share ideas and information about possible futures within our lifetimes.”

The term “thought leader” makes my skin crawl but it looks like I may have actually found some.

Super Brunch

Well like I said – the collaborators will inherit the earth!

Yesterday Jelly and I had a great group of humans in the studio for brunch.

Jelly’s theme: People I worked with in 2009 that I’d like to work with in 2010

I will never forget that carrot cake. Sprinkled with so much love. Thanks for coming out everyone!

ISO50: Matthew Lyons Process

Matthew Lyons seems to be EVERYWHERE lately. Usually this would lead me to forgo a post as his work has been covered from every conceivable angle. However ISO50 recently asked him to describe his process on a particular piece.
It’s always interesting to me to look inside the mind of someone else while their working on a project, and Lyons seems especially forthcoming with his thought process and insights about his work. No recipes for success (not that they exist ) just some good old fashioned sketches and thoughts. Great stuff.
