SPACE! POSTERS!
I’ve run across a couple designers creating EXCEPTIONALLY beautiful space posters as of late. Nows a great time for designers to be taking on space as a topic, with talk of cutting much of our space exportation at the same times we’re finding amazing stuff out there!
The two posters above are part of an Astronomy set created by Simon Page. Simon’s work has a great Swiss Grid feeling to it and is highly geometric. Both of the posters above seem to harken back to the “golden age” of space when folks smoking pipes and sat on the hoods of their Cadillacs while they watched Buzz Aldrin and his counterparts blast off into the great unknown. Do yourself a favor and go dig around in Simon’s flickr page, there’s definitely some gold moon rocks to be found there.
Next up is the equally talented Ross Berens who takes an similarly Swiss but much more contemporary spin on the celestial bodies surrounding us. Ross’ typography blows me away and I love the desolate feeling of his posters. His posters give me the sensation of being in frigid, silent space starting at the beauty of each of these planets, really great stuff. If you’d like to have one of Ross’ lovely posters for your very own you can buy one here.
Just in case you’re clambering for just a LITTLE more spacey goodness here’s some in video form.
Stumbled on your site by chance. Have one of the prints by Simon Page which are just the sweetest!
